White County Soccer Building Toward Breakthrough Season

Growth has been the goal, and now, it is starting to show for the White County Warriors.

After seasons of building and learning, head coach Cameron Dronebarger said this year’s team is finally beginning to reflect the identity he has been working to establish since taking over the program.

“We have hopefully an identity or a culture of who we want to be,” Dronebarger said. “And I think we were able to really implement that this year and so, kind of the fruits of that labor which was encouraging.”

Dronebarger said a 9-6 season a year ago showed flashes of what the program could become, but the real progress has been in the commitment behind the scenes.

“They knew that the work was gonna be harder for them than it was maybe for some other teams,” Dronebarger said. “But they were willing to do that. I think it says a lot about our kids, it says a lot about their desire to get better and to grow.”

That willingness has helped White County evolve from a team searching for consistency into one building a foundation. With a mix of returning experience and developing players, the Warriors are continuing to shape a culture centered on effort, discipline and long-term growth.

Dronebarger said he has seen that growth not just in his players, but in himself as a coach. Whether it is resources or backing from administration, Dronebarger said the school has been fully invested in the program’s development.

“White County High School is just helpful in a sense of if we need anything for our soccer program,” Dronebarger said. “So long as it’s to the benefit of the kids, they’re gonna do whatever it takes to help us.”

Dronebarger continues to coach alongside his father, who serves as an assistant, adding another layer of connection and continuity to a program rooted in development.

And as the Warriors continue their season, the focus remains less on immediate results and more on sustaining what they have built.
