After seven seasons leading the Golden Eagles, Tennessee Tech men’s basketball head coach John Pelphrey will not return for an eighth year, the university announced Monday.
Pelphrey compiled 79 wins over seven seasons as Golden Eagles head coach. Athletic Director Casey Fox said he and the Golden Eagles staff felt it “was the right time for a leadership change and a refocus for the men’s basketball.”
University officials said a comprehensive national search will begin immediately. Tech is expected to partner with CSA Search & Consulting, a firm that has led more than 35 Division I men’s basketball head coaching searches over the past five years.
Additional updates are expected to be provided as the search progresses.
