Clarkrange High School is nearing the completion of the major bathroom renovation project in the school’s lobby area.
Fentress County Director of Schools Kristi Hall said the school building was built in the 1960s and that area of the school has not seen major renovations since then. Hall said the project is being completed just in time for basketball season.
“When people come visit our school, they always visit the restrooms in the lobby,” Hall said. “And so we have completely gutted those and remodeled them, and we are about to reopen those to the kids at the school as well as during our ballgame season.”
Hall said additional stalls have been added as part of the renovations. Hall said the cost of the renovation is just under $200,000.
“This will, you know, be nice, clean, up to date, and it will help the experience when you are at the high school,” Hall said. “Be a much more enjoyable and much more accessible to everyone.”
Hall said more improvements are planned for the aging building.
“Our future plans at the high school are looking at, honestly, doing some painting and doing new flooring throughout the school,” Hall said. “So those will probably be our next two phases of renovations at the high school.”
Hall said the lobby bathrooms are only one of two public restrooms on campus. Hall said she looks forward to the completion of the bathrooms.
