Clay County Mayor Dale Reagan said he is impressed with the work Medical Services is doing inside the county, part of the reason County Commissioners re-appointed Kyle Haney as the county’s EMA Director
Haney has served as the EMA Director for several years. Reagan said he has been pleased with Haney’s performance and believes Haney is the perfect fit for the job.
“He’s a certified paramedic, and he is also a flight paramedic with Air Evac,” Reagan said. “So he’s pretty much familiar with all kinds of different emergency situations that may occur.”
The county commission has also reappointed Lois Turner to serve as the county’s Park Director. Reagan said Turner has done a great job ensuring the fairgrounds are taken care of.
“It’s not a position that you know that you can actually make a living on because it doesn’t pay all that much and everything,” Reagan said. “But someone who’s retired and needs a little bit of a supplement or extra income and everything, it works out real well. Mrs. Lois lives right here in the Celina area, so she is right close to the park, so it seems to work out well for her and the county as well.”
Reagan said the park director position will have more things to handle as the county has finished a master plan for the parks in the county.
“We’ve got a lot of things in store, improving walking trails and stuff like that, and everything,” Regan said. “So, the park director would be right there at the front of the pack of that. Making sure that you know, everything is being done the way that it is required to be done.”
Reagan said the county has a park board that makes appointments every year. Reagan said the reason for both director positions to be appointed each year is that it gives the county a chance to change directions if a partnership is not working.
