T-DOT announced on Thursday that it has awarded an estimated $2.7 million contract for a culvert replacement project on State Route 53 in Jackson County.
The project will replace a damaged culvert and aim to improve drainage infrastructure. The project will require a full closure of SR-53 at Hurricane Branch Lane for approximately 50 days. Drivers will have to take a detour using SR-85 and SR-52 through Livingston.
T-DOT has not announced an exact start date for the closure. T-DOT plans to announce a start date at a later time.
