Cumberland Habitat Adds Brink As Engagement Director

Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity has named Ashley Brink as its new Community Engagement Coordinator.

Brink said she wanted to join the organization because she knows Habitat for Humanity is about more than building homes.

“They are about restoring dignity and creating roots, and I wanted to be a part of something that leaves a tangible legacy,” Brink said. “You can literally see hope take shape, one wall at a time. They offer resources to help people. So, you know, a lot of people think Habitat just gives away homes, and that is so far from reality.

Brink said the main goal she has in her new position with Habitat for Humanity is to educate and clear up misconceptions people have regarding the organization. She said she plans to build connections.

“If people don’t volunteer with Habitat or they haven’t been a family that we’ve partnered with in the past, and they haven’t had that insight of kind of behind the scenes process and they don’t really know, you know, 100 percent, of what Habitat is all about, I want to bridge those gaps,” Brink said.

Brink plans to bridge those gaps by making connections.

“I have always been passionate about, just connection in general,” Brink said. “Connection with community, connection with creativity, and with people’s stories. So, this role allows me to blend all of that. I get to bring my, my background in marketing, entrepreneurship, and story-telling to a cause that, that truly matters.”
