The second week of fall break occurs for many Upper Cumberland football teams this week. Five teams will play their first games after their breaks concluded. Playoff positioning and streaks are on the line this Friday.
Cookeville hosts Farragut in their final regular season home game. Cookeville will conclude their home stand facing their final non-region opponent, looking to get on the scoreboard for the first time since their loss to Green Hill September 26th. Farragut enters play 2-5, but have won their last two games.
Monterey battles Trousdale County. The Wildcats come off fall break with their last game a one score loss against Grundy County. Monterey will look to break their losing streak at home before playing two region games that could decide their fate. Trousdale County enters play 1-7.
Clay County heads on the road to battle Red Boiling Springs. The Bulldogs look to continue their undefeated streak in the state of Tennessee, having won six consecutive games since their opening round defeat to Clinton in Kentucky. They will also look for a win in their first region game this season. Red Boiling Springs enters play 0-7, having scored 31 of their 44 total points this season against Upper Cumberland opponents.
Pickett County will host Copper Basin. The Bobcats will conclude their season with two home games to end the season. They will seek their first win of the year, as well as their first points scored since August 29th, when they scored 12 against Sunbright. The 12 points remains the only points scored for Pickett County this season. Copper Basin enters play 2-5, having played teams out of the state in five of their seven games.
Warren County travels to Cannon County. The Pioneers are on the hunt to head back to .500 this season after falling to Stone Memorial and White County over their last two games. Warren’s four losses this season have occurred against Upper Cumberland teams. Cannon County enters play 5-3, having scored 31 points or more in all five wins this season.
