The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will have decisions to make now that the community survey results for the Fox Community Center proposal are in.
Chamber President John Deane said the survey received over 340 responses from the community. Deane said the top vote-getters were the desire for a YMCA branch and a public library expansion.
“They want a place where they can get exercise and enhance wellness and health, and that’s number one,” Deane said. “And number two is they want a place where they can meet up with their friends and make new friends.”
Deane said a library expansion is needed as the current library in Gainesboro is small and is busting at the seams. Deane said the next step is figuring out what is financially feasible to be included in the community center.
