Tech Capital Campaign Behind On Fundraising Last Year

Tennessee Tech fell behind during last fiscal year on “It’s Personal” Capital Campaign.

The University raised $8.8 million, the lowest amount since 2020. Tech’s overall goal is $125 million for the campaign. Vice President of University Advancement Kevin Braswell said the campaign stands at about 59 percent of goal.

“While the most recent fiscal year did not meet expectations, on a positive note, we are currently working with 30 individuals, corporations, and foundations that we believe give us the very best opportunity to meet and exceed the goal of 125 million,” Braswell said.

The campaign includes gifts to student experiences, scholarships, faculty support and university excellence. The last category is at 74 percent of goal, the higher percentage.

“Presently, the its personal campaign remains in the quiet phase,” Braswell said. “That’s the phase where we lock up the leadership and principal gifts point of it, think million-dollar commitments and up, and move on to secure additional major gifts.”

Braswell said the campaign is more difficult because it involves branching out to larger donors the University is not as familiar with.

Braswell said Tech could officially announce the campaign as early as Fall 2026, taking it into a public campaign.
