Week 6 of the high school football season welcomes many future opponents. The Upper Cumberland will see ten games that could go a long way towards deciding much across the region, including potential playoff talks.
Jackson County hosts Gordonsville. Jackson County hopes to score points in bunches after being held to seven points in the loss to Smith County last week. Gordonsville enters play 5-0.
Warren County faces Stone Memorial. Warren County looks to continue building on their 3-2 record, their best record in almost a decade. Stone Memorial bounced back from their loss to Upperman with a 21 point victory against Loudon last week.
White County heads home to face Macon County. The Warriors will seek their second consecutive win against a previously undefeated opponent. Macon County enters play 5-0.
York travels to Grundy County. The Dragons seek their first win of the season after coming up three points short against Bledsoe County. Grundy County stands 5-0.
Monterey hosts Marion County. Monterey head coach Scott Hughes will coach against Marion for the first time in his career, looking to improve the Wildcats’ record to .500. Marion County enters play 4-1.
Clay County hosts Cannon County. Clay County looks for their fifth straight win and hopes to remain undefeated against Tennessee opponents. Cannon County enters play 3-2.
Cumberland County travels to McMinn Central. The Jets will look to follow up their first win of the season last week with another solid performance. McMinn Central enters Week 6 2-2.
Cookeville hosts Green Hill. Cookeville will look to knock off the defending regional champions after acquiring their first win last week against Wilson Central. Green Hill enters play 3-2.
Upperman battles DeKalb. The Bees look to avoid dropping to .500 after falling to Beech last week. DeKalb looks for their first points in regional play after being shut out by Macon County.
Livingston hosts Pickett. The Wildcats suffered their first defeat in almost ten months last week and will look to bounce back on their homestand. Pickett County stands 0-5, looking for their first points since Week 2 against Sunbright.
