Warren County Fair Begins Friday, More Than 150 Volunteers

Keep your schedule open this weekend, as the 2025 Warren County Fair kicks off Friday.

Warren County Fair President Regan Kelsey said this year’s fair features corn decorations with the theme “Cream of the Crop”. Kelsey said the theme represents the county as the reigning 2024 AA state champion fair. Kelsey said this year, the fair is bringing back Farmer for a Day.

“It’s an interactive kids’ activity area where the kids can do some hands-on stuff,” Kelsey said. “Fun stuff for the kids, and it’s ag related. You know, a little bit educational, a good free activity for the kids to do.”

Kelsey said another new part of the fair is that there is a new memorial area next to the grandstands to honor the veterans from Warren County who have been killed in combat since World War I.

“I think we are gonna have 136 flags stuck up in the ground back there, and then a sign in each area with the names of each of those individuals,” Kelsey said. “So, something that we can do to honor their legacy and make sure they are not forgotten.”

Kelsey said the fair will also feature a performance by the musical group called Diamond Rio. Kelsey said the pageants are a fan favorite and will be returning once again this year.

“We’ve got, I think, close to 300 participants altogether, and we have pageants that range from the baby show, basically three months old, all the way up to 21 years old,” Kelsey said. “Our fairest of the fair, I think, has 36 contestants this year. Our 5,000-seat grandstand has been historically nearly full every year for that pageant, you know. So that’s a time-honored tradition here in Warren County.”

Kelsey said the county fair is one of the largest events the county has every year. Kelsey said the reason the county fair has been so popular throughout the years is that it is free to attend.

“As far as I know, this is the only completely free fair in the state of Tennessee,” Kelsey said. “Nobody is really doing what Warren County is doing. So you can come to our fair, and it doesn’t cost you a dime to park on our grounds or to walk in the gate. If you’ve got a family of four, five, or six, well, you know, economically that’s a lot easier than doing some other things that are out there.”

Kelsey said the fair board has about 60 active members and 150 plus volunteers. Kelsey said that without the help of the volunteers, putting on the county fair would not be possible.
