TDEC will be collecting household hazardous waste in Overton County Saturday.
Residents are encouraged to bring household hazardous waste like cleaning fluids, pesticides, and swimming pool chemicals. TDEC said a person does not have to reside in Overton County to participate.
The drop-off location is at the Overton County Fairgrounds, and the collection event will run from 8am-12pm.
This free event allows residents to dispose of corrosive, flammable, toxic, or reactive materials from their homes, such as cleaning products, lawn chemicals, and automotive materials. Batteries, oils and electronics are not accepted.
