Wound Care Move Complete, 4 West Changes Progressing

Cookeville Regional Medical Center’s relocation of the Wound Care Center is complete.

The Wound Care Center opened at the new location on Cedar Avenue back in March, but CEO Buffy Key said it took several months to finish the move.

“We’ve got a great team over there,” Key said. “We actually partnered with a company called Healogics, who are the wound care specialists, as far as the business management side of that. And then our director, Jason Wyatt, and his team, nurses, and techs, and assistants have just done an incredible job.”

Meantime, Key said the 4 West renovation is still on time and on budget. However, Key said the hospital is having to work around the renovation.

“Anything that is above or below that we’ve had to alter a little bit while we are building and doing all of those construction things, but other than that, we’ve pretty much gotten everything moved around that needs to be moved around.”

Key said the hospital will also soon be replacing an elevator on the 4 West portion, which will likely disrupt staff. Key said the patients will still have access to a patient elevator during that time. Key said the 4 West renovation should be completed in the Spring of 2026.

Key said the Endoscopy Renovation is aiming to begin in January of 2026. Key also said the South Tower Project is under schematic design. The South Tower Project will feature a new emergency room.

Key said the new and improved space will allow Wound Care to see more patients.

“We see a lot of patients from 14 surrounding counties, and we’re happy to see them, and we’ve got a fantastic ill rate, and so we just wanted to provide more space to them,” Key said.
