A four inch natural gas main was ruptured adjacent to the Celina K-8 School Friday morning.
Clay County EMA said the line ruptured just before 8 am, and odor from the gas seeped into the school building. 650 people were evacuated from the school building at 8:44 am, including students and faculty members.
Several students were evaluated on site, and four students received treatment. Nobody was transported to the hospital. The incident was concluded at 10:49 this morning.
All students were accounted for following the evacuation.
Responding agencies included Clay County EMS, Overton County EMS, Jackson County, EMS and Macon County EMS, and the Clay County Sheriff’s office.
