Warren County Pioneer Dylan Aguilar has set some goals for himself entering next season.
Aguilar plays outside linebacker and running back for the Pioneers. Dylan set career highs in multiple categories on offense and defense last season. Aguilar said he wants to have his best football season he has ever played.
“I’m hoping to have a breakout season,” Aguilar said. “Do good, get yards, make tackles, make plays, you know, maybe rack up some offers for my senior year.”
Aguilar said he wants to set more career highs running the football next season. Aguilar said his favorite part of being a running back is being able to build that trust with his offense.
“A tailback is probably a very important part of an offense,” Aguilar said. “The tailback really touches the ball a lot of the time when we’re on offense so we got to do our best to score touchdowns, get yards, get first downs, it’s a big responsibility as a tailback and that’s why I like it.”
Aguilar said his favroite part of being an outside linebacker is setting the edge.
“They say color never crosses your face because when you set that edge, you set everything inside,” Aguilar said. “My favorite thing is, you know, having that responsibility, having that whole team behind my back, setting that edge, letting them trust me to set that edge and make a play.”
Dylan Aguilar enters his junior year on the Pioneers. He looks to give Warren County their first regular season in the last two seasons. Warren County opens their season against DeKalb in August.
