A Livingston man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his girlfriend.
Authorities arrested 49-year-old Edward Randolph on one count of 1st Degree Murder and one count of Abuse of a Corpse for the death of his girlfriend, 47-year-old Hope Parrott. Investigators determined that Randolph allegedly murdered Parrott and then transported her body in a refrigerator, which was later set on fire off of Sunk Cane Road.
Overton County Sheriff John Garrett said the investigation had stalled before investigators got a lead.
“We had a family member that had actually called in and requested a welfare check to be done at the victim’s last known address,” Garret said. “And which, when our deputies got there, that person was not there and could not be accounted for, and that’s what kind of got the ball rolling.”
Garrett said the homicide investigation is still ongoing.
Garrett said he sends out the deepest condolences to the victim’s family. Garrett said that without the victim’s family providing information, the investigation would likely still be stalled.
Randolph has been booked into the Overton County Jail and has a bond set for $50 million. Garrett said the court system determines the bond amount based on how heinous the crime is.
