An arrest has been made in relation to the vandalism that was discovered last week at the Cookeville City Cemetery.
In a statement from the Cookeville Police Department, the department did not release the name of the individual, but did identify the individual as a juvenile. The juvenile allegedly knocked over and damaged an estimated 32 headstones.
According to the statement, the juvenile who was staying with a parent near the cemetery subsequently admitted to damaging the headstones.
A felony vandalism petition was obtained and served on the juvenile. The juvenile has been transported to the Putnam County Juvenile Detention Center.
