The Jackson County Lady Blue Devils Soccer Team needs to communicate better if they want to improve this fall.
That’s according to starter Tabitha Dubois. Jackson County lost five seniors after their run to the district tournament. Most of the returnees are starters from last year, including Dubois.
“I love how we can joke around with each other, especially with the coaches,” Dubois said. “We’re all pretty close and if anything goes down, we’ve all got each other’s backs.”
Dubois currently plays sweeper for Jackson County. Dubois said Head Coach Jordan Bryant made the decision to put her there. Dubois said she had to learn the position alongside the Jackson County coaching staff.
“It was a new position that we tried when I first started,” Dubois said. “I think it’s worked out pretty well so far. I think it’s a key position we should keep. It helps out a lot.”
Dubois said she is excited about the next wave of Blue Devils.
“I love to see all the new girls and the freshmen coming in and seeing them learning everything,” Dubois said. “I’m so excited to get into the full swing.”
Dubois said some of the freshmen have taken those aspects of the game and learned those very quickly. Jackson County finished with nine wins last season, which was a program high. Dubois said she looks to end her senior year with a bang.
“I’m hoping for at least ten [wins],” Dubois said.
