The Jamestown Rotary Club celebrating its 80th anniversary this year.
President April Conatser said Jamestown Rotary has been involved in many community service projects and fundraising over the years. Conatser said she has only been in the club for a few years, but she is proud of what the club has accomplished.
“One of the mottos for Rotary is service above self,” Conatser said. “And I feel like that really comes out in our club. We have a heart to serve. We love our community, so we’ve been able to come together for many years.”
Conatser said the Jamestown Rotary Club has stayed true to that mission while growing over time. Conatser said many decades old events are still running in the present day.
Conatser said organizations like the Rotary Club are important, especially in small towns like Jamestown.
“It’s just special to be a part of a club that loves our community,” Conatser said. “And we’re family, so we’re there for each other , we help each other. Our community always comes together and they support us.
