Cookeville basketball player Brody Parsons said he looks to do everything he can to help the Cavaliers win next season.
Parsons will be the only senior on the Cookeville basketball team. He plays small forward and power forward for the Cavaliers. Parsons said the sky is the limit for Cookeville next season.
“Anything’s possible.” Parsons said. “Last year, we made it pretty far, not as far as we wanted, but we made it a lot farther than other people thought we would. And we’re kind of playing with the same roles this year.”
Parsons said his favorite moment last season was in the first regional game against Oakland. Parsons scored nine points in that game, including a buzzer beater, to help Cookeville advance.
Parsons played football for a while at Cookeville before dropping the sport. Parsons said he dropped playing it to focus solely on basketball.
“It helps me take that step forward,” Parsons said. “Being that leader, playing as best as I can really.”
Parsons said he wants to do the same thing as Jaren Davis did last year.
“It’s kind of crazy cause I never thought I’d be a senior here or a senior in high school,” Parsons said.
Parsons saw the Cavaliers advance to the regional tournament last season.
