Biz Foundry Expanding To Crossville, Closing Warren Office

The Biz Foundry will expand to Crossville this summer.

Vice President Tiffany Anton said the non-profit that helps small businesses and entrepreneurs will setup shop at the historic Cumberland Mountain School. Anton said the Foundry will offer 10 private offices, co-working space, a conference room, and an event space.

“There’s not a lot of space like this in Crossville, where you can just rent a room,” Anton said. “A lot of times, you can rent a building, you can rent two or three offices, or what not, but this is really for the small business owner that doesn’t need a lot of space, that just needs, you know, an office space to meet with clients and what not.”

Anton said the remote workers can also rent out the office space. Anton said the non-profit has realized that half of the office space at their Cookeville location is rented out by people who work remotely.

“They have a company that they work for that’s not located here in the Upper Cumberland,” Anton said. “And instead of working at home, where pets, and dogs, and chores, and animals, or kids can kind of distract you, you have a space to come in and get to work and work from every day.”

Anton said the goal of the workbase in Crossville is to offer affordable office space. Anton said she is hoping to open the Crossville location sometime in July.

“As of today, we are taking our furniture from our McMinnville location and moving office furniture to our Crossville location,” Anton said. “So we are hoping within the next month that we’ll have electric and internet updated and all of the things so that we can have people in soon.”

Anton said the McMinnville location is closing. Anton said it was not due to opening a location in Crossville.

“Our landlord in McMinnville decided that they needed space for their own business, so they wanted to be able to use that space, and the timing just kind of worked out, so that we wouldn’t have to buy more furniture for the other location,” Anton said. “So one really kind of had nothing to do with the other, but it was just kind of life’s perfect timing to be able to work it this way.”

Anton said there will likely not be any plans for reopening a location in McMinnville. Anton said The Biz Foundry is excited to expand and see what can be accomplished in Crossville.
