A Warren County man will receive a new sentencing hearing after the state court of appeals found a trial court made a mistake.
The Court did not reverse the conviction of Lorenzo Romell Brown. Brown convicted by a Warren County jury of attempted voluntary manslaughter, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Brown was originally sentenced to 20 years. His appeal said the State failed to prove proper venue. It also said the court must merge his aggravated assault charges instead of partial consecutive sentences.
The Court’s conviction was affirmed, but the hearing will determine the new sentencing.
