Westmoreland Is Only Incumbent Running For Celina Alderman

EDITORS NOTE: This is part of a series of stories introducing the candidates for Alderman in Celina. Residents will vote Tuesday, June 3.

Candidate Kenny Westmoreland is the lone incumbent in next Tuesday’s Celina Aldermen race.

Westmoreland has lived in Celina for most of his life and has been an Alderman for four years. Westmoreland said Celina needs to fix water and sewer lines, among other infrastructure projects.

“We’re looking to try, hoping to pave the roads,” Westmoreland said. “And just to advance the city of Celina. Bring in industry, and just something that’s going to be a win-win for not only the people of Celina but the people of county.”

Westmoreland said Alderman play a large role in the city finances, and his experience in other areas translates to the job.

“I’m familiar with the situation,” Westmoreland said. “Also, I have been involved in construction, real estate, rentals and such there for many years, and I think I bring a bunch to the table.”

Westmoreland said he also has experience as a college instructor. Westmoreland said people should vote for him because he is an experienced Alderman.

“Most of all, I just try to make myself very visible and have an open ear to what people in Celina have to say,” Westmoreland said.
