EDITORS NOTE: This is part of a series of stories introducing the candidates for Alderman in Celina. Residents will vote Tuesday June 3.
Candidate Patty Spears said Aldermen have a responsibility to be fair, honest, and slow to judge others.
Spears has been self employed since 1990. Spears said her experience in owning a business can help solve some of Celina’s problems.
“I’m going to pay attention to what’s going on, what’s being done, and I’m just in there to help, not hurt anything” Spears said. “I’m not going to gripe. I’m not going to complain. I’m going to see what’s going on and how it’s all running.”
Smith said Celina has problems and she wanted to run to get to the bottom of what’s happening.
“Celina has a lot of issues like any other place,” Spears said. “They were working on a lot of them already. I’m just going to follow through and see what’s going on.”
Spears said her reputation speaks to why people should vote for her.
“[People] know me,” Spears said. “They know what kind of person I am and the know I’m in there for the best interest of the public.”
