Clarkrange High School’s next principal will be a familiar face, as Jason Bradley has been hired to take over the school’s leadership.
Principal Debbie Pritchett recently retired. Bradley has spent the last nine years at Clarkrange serving as a biology teacher. He spent the last five years as the Track and Field Coach. Bradley said he wanted to become the principal because Clarkrange High School provides great opportunities for kids.
“Becoming an administrator, it just allows me to help progress it and ensure that our kids are receiving those opportunities and are able to go on and receive the skills and knowledge they need in order to be successful in whatever they choose to do after high school,” Bradley said.
Bradley said some of his top goals as principal are to try and increase community involvement with the school and continue to build a strong school culture.
“Trying to get our kids involved and kind of see what options they have outside, because a lot of times they’ll get locked into what they see on a day-to-day basis, but there are tons of options out there and there are a ton of possibilities,” Bradley said.
Bradley said having familiarity with the school will help his transition to becoming a principal.
“I know a lot of the people inside the school, inside the school community, and just the community around the school with parents and stuff,” Bradley said. “I’ve had a lot of these students, I’ve had their brothers and sisters, I’ve had cousins and stuff like that, so a lot of them will kind of already know me, so it’s gonna help, but it’s still gonna be a lot of work, still gonna be some ups and downs, and still trying to figure out what to do next.”
Bradley said he could not be where he is today without the help of some very special people in his life.
“I definitely couldn’t do this without my wife,” Bradley said. “She is one of the only reasons I’ve been able to make it this far, but other than my wife, and helping me trying to get all those grades in my graduate degree, it’s really the team that I have had around me. My principal from before, my assistant principal (Andrew Bennett), who’s gonna be my future assistant principal as well, he has helped out quite a bit, and then we have our kind of administration team that several us have gone through this together, so our guidance counselor Kalli Buck, and our Art Teacher Will Larue, and really without any of them I don’t think any of this would be possible.”
Bradley said he is not sure if he will continue his duties as the head coach for the Track and Field team.
Bradley said he is excited to be involved at Clarkrange High School in a different way.
