Warren County Junior Brady Swallows will serve on the TSSAA’s Student Advisory Committee.
Swallows will be on the board alongside 19 other students across Tennessee. The group is designed to give students a voice to TSSAA. Swallows said the students will be able to give insight from sports and their experiences.
“We need to set the precedent of what this needs to be so that we are able to continue to have a voice and continue to be a good, have good insight and be good for change in the TSSAA,” Swallows said.
The new student advisory committee will begin fall of 2025. Swallows said he was very ecstatic when he heard the news.
“With the competitive pool and the small group of students that were going to be honored with being on this committee, I knew that it was going to be a challenge,” Swallows said. “But I felt like I had the ability and experience to be a valuable part of this committee.”
Swallows said the group has already talked with members of Florida’s student advisory committee.
“It means a lot to be able to be a part of the first group,” Swallows said. “I think it’s a great opportunity.”
Swallows serves as the quarterback of the Warren County football team. Per TSSAA guidelines, playing sports is a requirement for students eligible and wanting to be on the board.
Swallows said he plans to play football and baseball alongside his advisory role next season.
