Byrdstown Awaiting Permit For Paradise View Project

The next phase of construction for the Paradise View Development on Dale Hollow Lake in Byrdstown will begin soon, pending a permit.

The development will bring new condos and homes to Byrdstown. Mayor Sam Gibson said land for the condos has been cleared. Engineer Zeda Hillis said the next phase could begin soon.

“We’ve sent in the permit for T-DOT for that water line relocation and laying that line on Forest Lane,” Hillis said. “And they told her that it was pending review. All they lacked was a site visit and that they would schedule that this week.”

Gibson said new sewer lines for the development will be connected to an existing sewer line.

“It hasn’t been used very much, but it has been tested,” Gibson said. “It is an adequate line, and they’re going to hook onto it.”

Gibson said the development will help the sewer department and the local economy.

“It’s going to be an asset to us because it will give us considerably more revenue with the sewer,” Gibson said. “It could add up to 40 or 50 additional sewer bills each month, which would be a big benefit to a small place like this.”

Gibson said Paradise View could eventually expand to 70 to 80 condos.
