UCDD Officials planning to name the UCDD building’s conference room after Former Jackson County Mayor Randy Heady.
Executive Director Mark Farley said the plan is to have a plaque made that would be put on the wall of the conference room. Farley said he would like to invite Heady’s family to the UCDD Executive Committee’s April meeting for a presentation and formal dedication.
“I think it’d be a tribute to say to his family the board voted to do that,” Farley said.
The executive committee unanimously approved the plan. Farley said the plaque was not able to get done in time to be ready for the committee’s February meeting.
Heady served as the chair of UCDD and UCHRA’s Executive Committees until he passed away on January 12, 2025 after a battle with colon cancer.
