Three Upper Cumberland organizations will team up Friday to provide resources and connections for small businesses.
The Business Resource Collective formed after COVID, bringing together The Biz Foundry, Tech’s Center For Rural Innovation, and UCDD. The Biz Foundry’s Tiffany Anton said Friday’s inaugural Small Business and Entrepreneurial Conference will showcase the collective’s offerings.
“Just because you know your trade, your skill set, doesn’t mean that you know how to run a small business,” Anton said. “And that’s why this group, Business Resource Collective is a way for people to help get the business skills that they need.”
Anton said any person who has a small business or is thinking of starting one can use the Collective for guidance and support. Signups are available for the all-day conference.
“So, if you have a business idea and you have no idea where to go, you fill out a form, an intake form and then our coordinator will meet with you and kind of figure out exactly where you’re at,” Anton said. “What the needs are and who is your first step, who is most likely to get you in the right direction to take that first step.”
The conference Friday will be highlighted by discussions on topics from law to IT. It features a keynote address from speaker and author Vance Morris.
“The SBE Conference kind of started as a way to provide back, instead of one off here, we have a lunch there, one thing here, one thing there, to provide a day event of programming curated to help business owners level up their business,” Anton said.
