Baxter will take on an additional $1 Million loan to cover the deficit of the Wastewater Treatment Plant improvement project.
City Recorder Sharon Carlile said the city initially received $1.5 million in grant funding and $1.5 million in a loan through the USDA for the project. Carlile said the project bid came in at $4 million, and the additional $1 million loan is to cover the remaining costs.
Baxter Aldermen approved the issuance of the bond during Tuesday’s aldermen meeting.
