Warren’s Wilhelm Seeing Growth in Track and Field

Warren County Girls Track and Field Head Coach Jeremy Wilhelm has seen his team take a huge step this year.

Warren County sports one of the youngest rosters among Upper Cumberland track and field teams. The Lady Pioneers include just two seniors on the 29-person roster. Wilhelm said he has seen students become receptive to changes being made.

“I’ve been very pleased with the way that they’ve handled it.” Wilhelm said. “With, you know, wanting to get better and wanting to do more and not trying to make an excuse and giving it their all, and the results are proof that, you know, they’ve got what it takes.”

Wilhelm wrapping up his third season as track and field head coach. Wilhelm said he looks forward heading up to see the kids every day and see how much they have improved.

“When they have the success and see the, the joy and the happiness on their face of hey, I can do that.” Wilhelm said. “The team part of everybody encouraging each other and supporting and, has just been a joy to watch.”

Warren County has seen track and field students also achieve athletic scholarships.

“Coming back and supporting those kids means a lot to the ones that are currently on the team.” Wilhelm said. “They strive and want to be just as good or if not better to go to college and also continue their academic career.”
