Repairs on the way for a separated retainer wall outside the Cookeville Performing Arts Center.
The issue discovered as contractors work in the area with an addition to CPAC as well as updates to the Dogwood Park entrance. Leisure Services Director Rick Woods said the brick wall has separated and he asked the city’s engineering firm for a repair strategy.
“They gave us a design to put up four, excuse me, four piers or four columns that would help sustain that and keep that wall and that, keep that wall from failing and falling,” Woods said.
The repairs will cost some $65,000. The wall sits on the property near the Leisure Services office.
“I think this is the best , the best way to accomplish that in a, in a timely manner,” Woods said.
City Council approved the change order Thursday.
