Advocates Hosting Celebration Of Cultures In Crossville

The Upper Cumberland Diversity Advocates are hosting a Celebration of Cultures in Crossville Saturday.

Diversity Advocates Board Member Wilson Jackson said the celebration features singing and dancing from several different cultures. Jackson said the celebration is designed to help people understand the many different cultures.

“It’s the learning, it’s a learning process,” Jackson said. “You learn and we want to learn from different cultures to let them know that we are all together as one, even though we have different cultures, we are similar in how we grow in this country.”

Jackson said the celebration will feature the Plateau Women’s Chorus, a traditional Mexican dance, and local performers Regina Pullin, Michael Ruff, and Terry Henderson. Jackson said understanding different cultures promotes a healthy community.

The Celebration of Cultures will take place Saturday from 11am-3pm at the TCAT Campus in Crossville.
