Warren’s Wright Selected To New Fellowship Program

TCAT McMinnville Vice President Jennifer Wright selected to participate in an education group called the Chancellor’s Fellowship Program.

The program is designed to strengthen the leadership pipeline into executive roles within the state’s higher education system. Wright, one of 10 members selected for the program’s inaugural class.

“There are so many people who are dedicated to education, dedicated to helping the people in our communities better their lives through getting an education, that I know that there were several people who would be wonderful in this fellowship and so to be selected to be a part of it is a great honor,” Wright said.

Wright said she will be participating in a year-long class that meets once a month beginning in June. Wright said she hopes to use what she learns in the class to better herself and TCAT McMinnville.

“I want to strengthen my leadership skillset so that I can best serve our institution as it grows,” Wright said. “We are getting two new campuses, one is a replacement campus and one is a completely new campus, so the opportunity for those connections across the state is going to be very helpful in helping me help out faculty and staff as we grow so quickly.”

Wright said she was nominated by the school and participated in interviews to be selected. Wright said her collaboration on past projects may have led to her selection.

“I’ve worked with some of the members of leadership at the Tennessee Board of Regents on past projects with our institution, with a sister institution at TCAT Shelbyville,” Wright said. “I do believe that since I have worked with some of them and they know my work ethic and they know my passion for education, I think that’s one of the reasons that I was selected.”

Wright said she has been an educator her whole life. She said she believes everybody should be a lifelong learner and serve their community.
