The Upper Cumberland Association of Realtors has a new Association Executive.
Lavar Harris takes over for Carol Glover, who will retire at the end of the month after 16 years. The Michigan-native said he is honored to step into this new role.
“UCAR has a strong foundation,um, of supporting their members, the realtors of the area. And my goal is to just step up and help them as much as I can and be a service to the public.” Harris said.
Harris said the Upper Cumberland real estate market is trending very positive right now. Harris said the inventory is up compared to the same time last year.
“We’re looking at a media sale price of around $333,000,” Harris said. “With homes only really being on the market for about an average of about 65 days. So, overall, sales are up. We’re seeing interest rates at their lowers that they’ve been since about October of last year.”
Harris said one of his visions for the association is to embrace new technology and increase education efforts for its members. In turn, Harris said this is one way the association can better serve the public.
“As you know, real estate is something that, for the most part, touches everyone,” Harris said. “So the way we can best serve the public is to make sure that realtors are knowledgeable and understand not only the market, but also the code of ethics that comes with being a realtor and up to date on all the professional standards that are associated with being in real estate.”
