Clay County Bulldog baseball player Aiden Keen knows how important the next stretch of games will be to the Bulldogs season.
A junior, Keen has played baseball all three years at the varsity level. Head Coach Devrim Brown said Keen continues to bring the fight no matter the situation.
“That was really important to me and our team.” Keen said. “And this year I think we just kept it rolling and as long as we can keep it rolling, we just got to hammer down and do what we’re doing and I believe that that is just how you keep momentum going.”
Keen has played baseball since the age of three. Keen said his dad got him into the sport.
“When he’s not working, we’re at the ball field, taking BP, and fielding ground balls so it’s just the expectation of, repetition, just repeat what you’re working on.” Keen said. “And it’s just a real good feeling to have him there working with me after everything we’ve done together.”
Keen said he always looks to help fire up the team.
“We got to go out there and hit, keep the bats going. That’s the main thing in any game.” Keen said. “Having the momentum on your side and I believe you can beat anybody when you have momentum.”
Keen has served as designated hitter and played first base for the Clay County Bulldogs this season. He ranks third on the team in fielding percentage as well as hits. Keen said he plays wherever the team and Coach Brown need him to play.
“He never once complained. He just put his head down and got to work.” Brown said.
