Cookeville’s Womack Appreciative Of Support System

Cookeville softball player Addie Womack plays softball with help from her friends and coaches.

Womack enters her senior year for the Cookeville Lady Cavaliers. She enters her fourth year as a member of the varsity team. Womack said Head Coach Jordan Webb has helped her develop while being part of the Lady Cavaliers.

“Coach Webb has played a very big role especially, for me he’s always encouraging,” Womack said. “He’s always there when you need him, he really tries to help in so many different ways and he does such an aamzing job.”

This season marks Womack’s 14th playing softball. Womack’s mother played softball in high school and college. Womack said her mother helping her start as young as she did was very influential.

“It was very important to her that I kind of took up what she did,” Womack said. “She really helped me through, up until high school, still is, so I think it’s very important to her that I continue on.”

Womack said her parents’ support means the world to her.

“They’ve gotten me through so much,” Womack said. “They’ve never missed a game. Always my number one fan[s]. That just means a lot to me that they always support me no matter what.”

Womack currently stands as one of five Lady Cavaliers with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage as the starting catcher. She also stands third on the team in runs scored with ten. Womack said this year stands out as one of her best years.

Womack will play her next game Saturday at Clinton County.
