Sparta Is Getting A Waffle House, Adding New Option

Waffle House has chosen Sparta for a new Tennessee location.

Mayor Jerry Lowery says the Georgia-based chain contacted the city after finding property that interested them.

“We don’t know exactly where we are in line, to when they will start the process, but it’s a definite yes they are coming to Sparta and we’re excited about that,” Lowery said.

Lowery said plans have been submitted to the city for the facility. In addition to the economic impact the restaurant will bring, Lowery believes it will become a gathering spot for travelers and the locals.

“It’s interesting, most Waffle Houses are 24-hour diners and it will become a social spot where you know, a lot of times after ballgames and things that end late night, there’s limited availability as where people can go to grab a bite to eat,” Lowery said. “And now Waffle House will be one of those places.”
