The Upperman Bees boys basketball team defeated Greeneville Friday afternoon in the Class 3A state semifinal 55-47.
Upperman led from beginning to the end. They led by as many as 13. Greeneville cut the lead to three points with two minutes to go.
Ty Cobb finished with 33 points. He finished the night shooting 10-18. He ended the first quarter 1-5 shooting. Cobb made 12 of his 14 free throws, including four in the fourth.
Bronzden Chaffin added 12 points, all in the second half. Evan Huddleston and Landon Hall scored five points and added two steals.
Trey Thompson led Greeneville with 19 points. He also added six rebounds and three blocks. He scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half.
Upperman will advance to their first ever state championship game. They will face Tullahoma Saturday afternoon at 4. Tullahoma defeated Upperman earlier this month in the regional championship.
