The Jackson County Blue Devils boys basketball team lost to Alcoa Friday afternoon, 59-38, ending the 24-25 season.
Jackson County shot 37 percent from the field. They made just one three-pointer all game, finishing 1-8. They turned the ball over 23 times while forcing this 13 Alcoa turnovers.
Will McCrary led Jackson with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He and Par Patterson scored the team’;s first 21 points through three quarters. Patterson finished with seven points on 2-7 shooting.
The Blue Devils out-rebounded Alcoa 31-24. They snatched 10 offensive rebounds.
Alcoa’s Jibriel Koko led the game with 21 points on 9-11 shooting. Jay Kirk and Condis Cherry followed with 12 points. Koko and Cherry scored 23 of the first 29 Alcoa points.
Jackson County finishes their season 29-4. The game marked their first loss against a team in Tennessee all season.
Alcoa will advance to the Class 2A state championship game Saturday afternoon. They have won the previous two state titles.
