The White County Girls saw the season end Thursday afternoon the state quarterfinals, falling to Dyersburg 52-42.
White County trailed for all four quarters. Dyersburg began the game with a 5-0 lead, which would stand as the largest lead by either team until the fourth quarter. Dyersburg would finish the game on a 7-0 run.
The Warriorettes trailed by one point in the first and third quarters. They would trail by two points at halftime.
White County’s Ava Jones finished with 16 points. Bella Winingham finished with 11, the only other player to score double digits for the Warriorettes. White County finished shooting below 30 percent from the field.
The game marked the first appearance for White County in the state tournament since 1997. They ended that season with a quarterfinal loss to Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge had knocked White County out of the playoffs in their previous two appearances.
White County ends their season 32-4. The game marks their first loss since January 28th. The loss stands as their largest of the four defeats suffered this season.
