Monterey Tee Ball Field To Be Renovated By Residents

Monterey’s Elmore Street Tee Ball Field will be renovated thanks to several donations and volunteers.

Monterey Tee Ball and Coach Pitch President Joshua Gallagher said the renovations will consist of providing new canopies over the dugouts, netting over the backstop, a new backstop, and a new paint job. Gallagher said the tee ball field has needed renovations for quite some time.

“Knowing that it has needed it for a while,” Gallaghaer said. “I don’t know if anybody else has really thought about doing that kind of maintenance and upkeep. It’s for the kids and to make sure that they have a good season and enjoy it and have fun.”

Gallagher said he and several volunteers have already started the renovations. Gallagher said he hopes to have the renovations completed by the second week of April.

Gallagher said several sponsors throughout the community have donated time and money to help with the renovations. Gallagher said he believes the renovations are taking a step forward in growing the program.

“I’m just glad that they were willing to,” Gallagher said. “A lot of them have kids out here playing so they were willing to take their time out from their businesses and donate and help. I’m just glad our community is coming together more.”
