UC Tourism Association To Launch New Website

The Upper Cumberland Tourism Association developing a new website to launch alongside its upcoming regional branding plan.

Executive Director Billie Davis said the new website will use a different platform. Davis said that system will allow the new site to have more flexibility in how it can be used and improved search engine optimization.

“It’s going to help us keep our blog posts current because, again, a lot of times when entities like mine create a website they have to hire that stuff out,” Davis said. “If it’s WordPress, I can do it. So that’s a big part of it, is just having it on a platform that I’m familiar with that I can update.”

Davis said the association is adding itineraries and trails to the site that are already planned in the new branding campaign. Davis said many details such as the color scheme and name have yet to be determined but those things will be put in as the branding plan gets closer to completion.

“I’m trying to be very zen about it,” Davis said. “Which patience is not my strong suit, especially when it’s a project that I’m really excited about, but I want it done right.”

Davis said the new website almost launched last year but the association decided to wait while the branding plans got underway. Davis said her team has been fleshing out the site over the past eight months or so.

“When we do have that information we want to do a launch at the same time with the new brand,” Davis said. “And I keep saying new brand, it’s really the same. It’s going to have a different look to it, it’s got different feel to it. There’s a level of excitement behind it because whatever we do with it, whatever the name is, it’s going to make the Upper Cumberland amazing and I know that.”

Davis said the website will feel very different from the current one in a fantastic way.

“Social media’s going great, the visitor’s guide is incredible, the website’s that missing piece that I’m really excited to launch,” Davis said.
