One juvenile killed in a Friday afternoon shooting at Cookeville’s West End Park.
Cookeville Police responded around 4:05pm Friday afternoon to the park located just west of Willow Avenue. Police found two juveniles with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Cookeville Regional, where one was pronounced dead.
The suspects remain unidentified and at large, according to Police Lieutenant Anthony Leonard. Police could be looking for one or two suspects according to earlier report, when the suspects reportedly were seen fleeing.
“We encourage residents in the area to remain vigilant and be aware of their surroundings,” Leonard said. “Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Cookeville Police Department at 526-2125.
