The next phase of the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport fuel project kicked off Thursday.
Airport Manager Dean Selby said he met with the contractor for a pre-construction session outlining the expectations.
“The most difficult thing that I have been hearing from them are supply chain issues,” Selby said. “They have a projected date but as we all know in every industry out there, we are struggling with the supply chain.”
Selby said steel shortage will be the largest factor. Selby said two new tanks are included with the project along with the pumps, piping and electrical connections associated with pumping fuel.
This is the third phase of fuel farm capacity upgrades for the airport. Phase two occurred in 2020.
