Cookeville Man Indicted with Extortion and Harassment of Judge and Attorneys

An investigation conducted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the indictment of  Cookeville man Tyler Dakota Matthews.

Matthews was accused of writing letters threatening to harm a Sevier County judge, an assistant public defender, and an assistant district attorney. Last week, the Sevier County Grand Jury charged Matthews with three counts of extortion and three counts of harassment.

He is already being held in Sevier County Jail on unrelated charges, and is on a $50,000 bond.
