Free car seat inspections and seats are available in White County today at Gary Maxwell Insurance.
The group Safe Journey is hosting the event from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Event Volunteer Kim Creasy said Safe Journey works with the White County Sheriff’s Department and uses grants to provide replacement car seats.
“If they don’t know the history of the car seat, if it’s been in a car wreck or not,” Creasy said. “Just that they’re safer with good, sturdy, non-damaged, non-defective, in-date car set and appropriate sized car seats.”
Creasy said that participants should just come with their car seat and their child if possible to get the best possible fit. She said Safe Journey will walk you through the inspection steps and replace the seat if car seats are still available to give out.
Gary Maxwell Insurance is located in Sparta at 606 W Bockman Way.
