Putnam County voters concerned about delivery delays can hand deliver absentee by-mail ballots to the Willow Avenue post office.
Election Commission Administrator Michele Honeycutt said each ballot must have a stamp and be delivered by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
“Out of the 95 counties, every county has one post office that has been designated for people to be able to go in and drop their ballot off with them,” Honeycutt said. “Or in the drop box, which is inside the post office.”
Honeycutt said a county election worker will pick up the ballots directly after the cut off. The 900 South Willow Avenue post office is the only location in the county accepting hand delivered ballots.
“We just want to make sure everyone knows you can not bring that ballot in to our office or any precinct,” Honeycutt said. “It has to go through the mail. If you out a stamp on it, you can walk it in there.”
