Two Overton County residents injured Thursday afternoon in a two-car wreck along Highway 111.
A vehicle driven by 77-year-old Sidney Sullivan of Cookeville was attempting to turn left from Paran Road onto Highway 111 south. 30-year-old Andrew Scott of Rickman was traveling northbound. Scott’s vehicle hit the left side of Sullivan’s vehicle. Sullivan’s vehicle crossed the median and ended up in the southbound lanes. Scott’s vehicle came to rest on the northbound lanes.
Both drivers were injured in the accident according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Sullivan was charged with failure to yield. Scott was charged with not wearing a seatbelt.
The incident happened around 12:30pm Thursday. It tied up traffic along Highway 111.
