The new Spencer budget includes no new tax increase.
Spencer Mayor and Board of Aldermen passed a $587,000 budget. The 2021 budget is the same as last year’s except for the addition of one police officer.
Spencer Mayor Mickey Robinson said the city’s budget has been healthy for years.
Robinson said the extra officer will allow law enforcement to patrol the roads of Spencer 24/7. Spencer Police Department currently has two full time officers.
The city also approved new regulations for tiny houses located in the city limits.
